Larry Kruguer – Partner / Adviser
Larry Kruguer, American born of Argentine parents, had the opportunity to play soccer while attending the University of Miami in Florida. He earned a degree in International marketing and finance which has led to a 20+ year career at major companies like American Express, Alamo, CBS Sports and Wendy’s Hamburgers where he currently serves as International Vice President for New Business Development.
During his professional career, he maintained links to the soccer community where he served as an executive on several youth leagues in south Florida, and where he also created his own soccer club Soccer Paradise F.C., which recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary.
His passion for the sport and his strong belief in building soccer in the United States to the next level led to the creation of Athelite Sports Marketing Group.
Manuel Poch – Project Director
Manu brings a wealth of sports industry experience and insight to Athelite-SMG from his soccer career as a player in South America and as a scholarship athlete at Southern Illinois University, and more recently from roles as commercial manager at professional and youth soccer clubs, sport marketing, and player representation.
After his graduation and soccer career at SIUE, Manu spent the last 10 years working in several international projects across multiple platforms in the sport industry. In 2013, Manu relocated back to the U.S. with his family and completed his Master’s in Sports Communication and Marketing. His passion for sport and business, in addition to his international experience makes Manu the perfect project director for Athelite Sports Marketing Group.
HUGO CASTAÑEIRA - ASSOCIATE - Player Representation and Club Consulting
Hugo has an extensive background in different areas within professional soccer. As a player he represented the Argentina National Team in the Futsal World Cup in Holland in 1989 and played professionally for more than 10 years. As part of soccer club management he was the President of second division club “Argentino de Rosario” in the 90's as well as serving in various management positions with other first divisions clubs in Argentina.
Since 1999 he has worked as a licensed FIFA agent as issued by AFA (Asociacion del Futbol Argentino). He is widely known in South America and has undertaken several transactions worldwide. He maintains strong ties with first division clubs in Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. Hugo is an expert in FIFA player/agent regulations, player statutes, transfer conflict resolution, and FIFA’s training compensation and solidarity mechanism rules.
Hugo guides Athelite efforts in player representation, professional club consulting, and club management opportunities.
